The Santa Barbara Foundation is a Public Foundation and non-profit agency under the Ministry of Economy and Finance of Castile and Leon, which has its origin in a collaboration agreement signed on 13 July 1988 between the National Employment Institute (INEM) and the Regional Government of Castile and Leon (Junta de Castilla y León), officially becoming a notary on 13 September 1989, to collaborate with social welfare and the promotion of these cultural activities aimed at promoting knowledge and scientific and technical research.

Today, Santa Barbara Foundation is a consolidated entity, working in training tasks and R & D, acting always within the field of applied technology, security, and technological progress.

In the R&D section, The Santa Barbara Foundation is present, participates and promotes research and applied technology projects, in collaboration with different technology-based entities, universities, research organizations and companies, developing its activity in four principal areas:

  • Mining and Underground Construction.
  • Renewable Energies.
  • Civil Construction.
  • Environment
Role in the Project:

FSB acted as a representative of end-users in the mining industry and contributed user requirements and use-case descriptions.

FSB  hosted the terrestrial demonstration in 2023 and provided equipment and facilities for this purpose.

FSB evaluated the terrestrial demonstration and disseminate CoRob-X within the mining community.
